Trained in the visual arts, she’s always been drawn to the visual storytelling of movies, television and theater, so what better choice for her third act than adapting her own novels for film and TV.
With forty novels, why did RED jump to the top of her adaptation list? Besides being a story beloved by her fans, it is her most adapted novel, including a bestselling manga series and hit daytime drama in Japan. When she was approached by UK actress and writer Liz Appleby, a super-fan of RED and eager to adapt the book herself, the choice was clear.
Erica and Liz joined forces, combining their varied professional and cultural experience to create a dynamic partnership. At this writing, RED is complete and work on their second endeavor, SHOCKING PINK, has begun.

Liz has been reading ‘Red’ since its release in the 90’s and knows the characters like old friends, so the idea to adapt the book came almost naturally.

Liz is an actor who cut her teeth in theatre before expanding to TV and film later in her career. Storytelling is her life.

She is known for films including ‘Kraven the Hunter’, and ‘The Amateur’; and also TV series’ ‘Outlander’, ‘Carnival Row’ and ‘Call the Midwife’.

Liz was born and still lives in London, although she travelled the world before settling back home.
