 | Audie Award The Chopin Manuscript, the serial thriller I took part in, was honored as the 2008 Audiobook of the Year at the Audio Publishers Association’s Audie Awards. The other audiobooks that were nominated in this category were: Steven Colbert's I Am America; The Bible Experience, a star-studded, multi-cast recording of the Old Testament featuring talent like Denzel Washington (the same company's New Testament recording was last year's Audiobook of the Year); The Invention of Hugo Cabret, a wonderfully creative children's book; and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As Jeff Deaver said: "Beating God and Harry Potter is one thing . . . but Colbert????? It's a humbling experience." |
 | Mayhem in the Midlands I'll be attending Mayhem in the Midlands Conference in Omaha, Nebraska May 22 - 25th. It features a terrific crime scene track with authors and experts in the legal and criminal justice fields contributing their insights and stories. I'll be moderating one panel and participating as a panel author for two others. It's a great event for writers and readers alike- any of us seeking a thrill!  | RED is back! Great news! I just heard from my publisher that they will be reissuing RED in December 2008. RED is the last book I wrote before crossing into suspense.
